I’m Emily. I’m an award-winning Washington, D.C. based audio producer and writer. I’ve reported and produced for international broadcast radio and #1 Apple podcasts. My work has appeared on NPR, Short Wave, Atlas Obscura, PRI’s The World, and beyond.
I’ve been a full-time audio producer and reporter since 2019, when I graduated from the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. Before that, I helped indoor cannabis farms switch to more sustainable lighting, I co-founded a beekeeping apprenticeship program in Brooklyn, I made ceramics for a boutique porcelain line, I curated events at indie bookstores in NYC, and I studied migratory sea birds as a field biologist in coastal Alaska. I follow my interests wherever they take me. I’m originally from Raleigh, NC.
As of December 2024 I’m only taking on select side projects.
These could include:
Podcast production and editing
Podcast consulting
Health and science writing
Interview coaching
I’m only taking on tape syncs on evenings and weekends.
